Hi – I am currently working with a group of organizations and agencies in my community. We consider ourselves a partnership but we could be called a coalition – who knows, that’s a topic for another day. We have been working together for a few years now and I’d like us to, as a group, do a little reflecting on what’s working, what’s not, are people getting what they need, etc. Do you know of any resource or evaluation tool that could help me with that?

Thanks for your question – we do have a tool that I think could help you determine how effectively your partnership is working.

Here is a brief review of the tool - The “Partnership Self-Assessment Tool” was developed using the “Partnership Synergy Framework” (Lasker, et al., 2001) to provide a measurement of the key indicators for successful collaboration and level of synergy.

If you have any questions or challenges accessing the tool, please let me know.

There was an article in the Oct 2009 issue of Evidence Based Nursing that may be of interest to those who would like to better understand the hierarchy of pre-appraised evidence...what does that mean exactly? The article also gives examples for each level within the hierarchy.

Although it's in a nursing journal this "hierarchy of evidence" is relevant to anyone who searches the literature for evidence that will address the broad range of public health issues faced by practitioners.

The article is free. click here
