About the Discussion Forums

What is the Discussion Forum?

The Discussion Forum is a virtual platform for DialoguePH network members to share information, resources, tips, and solutions to problems related to knowledge synthesis, translation and exchange in public health.

Members of DialoguePH can log-in to the Discussion Forum and have online conversations, in the form of posted messages, with other network members, NCCMT staff and experts. Within an individual forum topic, multiple ‘threads’ (or more focused discussions) can be initiated. Threads are stored in chronological order and act as a permanent, searchable record of the conversation.

Members are encouraged to actively participate in the Discussion Forum by posting new topics or replying to existing threads. Please share your ideas for new discussion forum topics with our Knowledge Broker Kirsten Sears who manages the discussion forum.

Please note, when posting a question in the Forum that is directed to NCCMT staff, please allow one business day for a reply. All Discussion Forum content is available in both English and French. Please allow an additional day or two for translation.

Discussion Forum Etiquette

The Discussion Forum is moderated by NCCMT staff. We are responsible for the technical maintenance of the platform as well as the moderation of the discussion topics. Here are some hints to help you successfully participate in the Discussion Forum:

Is your subject new?

Before beginning a new thread within a topic, please search the Forum first to see if your question or comment has been discussed previously.

Be descriptive and specific

When posting a new topic, try to be as descriptive and as specific as possible. This will elicit a greater response from other members and ensure that subsequent posts are on topic.

Be respectful

When posting comments or questions to the Forum, please respect the opinions of other members and the copyrights of other members, sites, information and media.

Be inclusive

Some acronyms and jargon words that are familiar to you and your colleagues may not be understood by other network members. To avoid confusion, please spell out your words in full, especially on the first use.

Mind your language

Be cautious when using internet “language,” for example, using all capital letters denotes shouting.

NOTE: Spamming and the use of offensive language are considered etiquette violations. These posts will be deleted.

Please contact Kirsten Sears with any questions or technical issues that may arise as you participate in the Discussion Forum.
