Partnership Self-Assessment Tool
User Story
“It ensures inclusivity in a broader way with all partners, and ensures time is used wisely and all can see a benefit. It is easy to do and not time consuming and … partners are anonymous when they complete it so they can be honest.”
- Public Health Manager
A public health manager needed help to evaluate a community network her organization had developed to strengthen services for children and youth in their region.
In an effort to evaluate and improve their approach, the team used the “Partnership Self-Assessment Tool” developed by the Centre for the Advancement of Collaborative Strategies in Health.
The tool helped the team assess whether they were making the most of their collaborative process to improve service integration. The group used the tool twice over time to gather feedback from network members on the effectiveness and efficiency of the partnership. The results of the pre- and post- assessment were documented in their evaluation report, but also helped them to identify strengths, challenges and priorities that are now being addressed as the network continues its work.
