This set of learning modules provides comprehensive resources on knowledge translation (KT). The modules explore theory and provide tools and approaches to help users perform a particular KT task. The resource includes the following key principles for KT:

  • Knowledge translation is social process, where contextualized knowledge is created and applied to address problems.
  • Knowledge influences policy and action in many different forms and in diverse ways.
  • Knowledge brokering, synthesis and dissemination strategies serve to bridge policy and research.

Steps for Using Method/Tool

The resource guides users through three learning modules:

  1. An introduction to knowledge translation (KT)
  2. Situational analysis
  3. Priority setting

These summaries are written by the NCCMT to condense and to provide an overview of the resources listed in the Registry of Methods and Tools and to give suggestions for their use in a public health context.
